Kasstengel Style - Crispy Cheese Snack
Need a quick snack? Make this recipe! ‘Kasstengel style': crispy cheese; crunchy, sweet, and savory. It looks like a kasstengel, but is much faster and easier to make! Perfect to share with friends and family, or enjoy it yourself!
Ingredients:
• 9 pieces of plain bread
• 100 ml of milk
• 100 grams of Gouda, Our Seasonal Cheese
• 1 tbsp sugar
• ½ tsp salt
• 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, dissolved with 1 tablespoon of water
• 75 grams of butter
Instructions:
1. In a small saucepan, pour milk, cheese, sugar, butter and salt; mix well.
2. Heat over low heat until dissolved and boiling.
3. Pour the cornstarch liquid little by little while stirring quickly
4. When it thickens, remove it from the heat. chill.
5. Spread the cheese custard on the plain bread until it is evenly distributed
6. Cut the bread in a rectangle shape or according to the taste
7. Add grated gouda cheese; keep doing it until the bread runs out.
8. Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet that has been smeared with butter.
9. Bake for 20–25 minutes at 180 degrees until brownish yellow. Enjoy!
